Enjoy the Beautiful Surrounding Areas
Beautiful Nambucca Heads is situated on the Pacific Highway midway between the cities of Sydney and Brisbane.
Ideally located to provide you with an enjoyable retirement lifestyle, Faringdon Village is close to the beautiful Nambucca River where you can take a stroll directly from the village without crossing any roads along a series of boardwalks that wind a path along and over the water to the river entrance. Storyboards highlight historical sites and there is a very high chance you will see dolphins, pelicans, ospreys and Brahminy kites along the way, not to mention an abundance of bream, blackfish and mullet.
The breathtaking views from Captain Cook and Rotary Lookouts will catapult you into a real-life postcard. Fabulous beaches and coastal scenery await you as you wind your way down to the headland or take a walk along the outdoor graffiti gallery known locally as the V-Wall.
Gordon Park rainforest is a pristine piece of original rainforest preserved amid commercial and residential development. A unique network of trails throughout the park highlights its botanical treasures.
Situated on Main Beach Headland, the Headland Historical Museum showcases the region’s colourful history. The headland also provides the chance to enjoy a cappuccino and admire yet another breathtaking ocean panorama.
Outside the police station on Bowra Street, view the mosaic sculpture where dolphins, fish and an octopus emerge from concrete waves in what may be Australia’s longest sculpture – ‘The River’. No-one will be left untouched (or without a memory of their nanna’s favourite teacups) after gazing into the sculpture’s swirling tale of how the river winds from the mountains of the Great Dividing Range, through towns and farmland until it meets the sea.
Local artists have painted electricity power poles along Bowra Street also borrowing on the theme ‘Where the River Meets the Sea’. Explore the Nambucca Heads Community and Arts Centre on Ridge Street for quality local works of art.
